LISTEN TO YOUR INNER VOICE: Netball Workshop by Amber Bradley
25 May 2012

Netball WA FOUNDATION CORE workshop 25th May 2012

story by Amber Bradley

Kate Bobridge and I enjoyed preaching to eleven elite young Western Australian netballers on the evening of Friday, 25th May, 2012.

And I hope the girls, who were all part of state under 17 or state under 19 teams,  got something valuable from the Developing Champions workshop, which was held at the Department of Sport and Recreation headquarters in Leederville.

We covered the foundation core units, which include and in-depth introduction to the life skills program; a unit entitled "Understanding Me”, a second called, "Managing Me” and a final subject, "My Pathway”.

They were a lively bunch, all passionate about life and netball.

Though, some had a little difficulty defining exactly what their sporting and life goals were.

For those that are struggling a bit to know their true path in life, I always suggest listening to the little voice inside your head. Therefore, I leave them with the following words, from inspirational writer, Jonathan Lockwood Huie;

You are perfect. You are complete.
Your inner voice always knows what to do,
but it is a quiet voice.
You can only hear the whisperings of your inner voice -

your inner compass - when you turn down the volume
of your fears, your regrets, your resentments,
and the fear-based advice
your neighbors are so willing to give you.

On the night some girls shared their ambition to make the fever squad in the future and have successful careers like Catherine Cox. Here she is representing the fever last season.
