Mark Knowles Selected in Kookaburras Team for London International
18 April 2012
AUSTRALIAN men's hockey coach Ric Charlesworth has unveiled the squad for next month's London international tournament as the Kookaburra's ramp up preparations for the Olympics.

The tournament will be played at Olympic Park from May 2-6 and will give the athletes their first look at the Olympic blue pitch.

A core group of players, including five-time world player of the year, Jamie Dwyer, will travel to Europe but will only play select matches to ensure their work load is managed.

"This tour is another opportunity to explore our form and our opponents," Charlesworth said ahead of the tournament which runs from May 2-6.

"It continues to be difficult to select teams as all players in the squad remain in contention to play at the Olympics."

The tour is a chance for players to further press for Olympic selection and Luke Doerner, Liam De Young and Jason Wilson, who are returning from injury, will be keen to impress.

Kookaburra's Squad:
Nathan Burgers, Joel Carroll, Luke Doerner, Fergus Kavanagh, Liam De Young, Chris Ciriello, Jonathon Charlesworth, Tim Deavin, Matthew Butturini, Mark Knowles, Glenn Simpson, Rob Hammond, Eddie Ockenden, Simon Orchard, Kieran Govers, Jason Wilson, Matt Gohdes, Russell Ford.
